The Jaffa Gate

One of the many gates into the Old City of Jerusalem. Joan and I stayed at a hostel just inside this gate for a week after we finished our time at the Wadi Hamam dig. The room we rented was 90% bed. It had a small walk way around two sides of the bed. The bathroom was an extension sticking out on the side of the building. It served as toilet and shower all in one.

A little different than the 5 star hotels we will be staying in on our trip this October!!

I was looking online at the geocaches in Jerusalem and there is one near the Jaffa Gate. Hopefully on our free day there we will be able to log a geocache!!

Journey Through the Bible Preparation

Today I found out our flight schedule... leaving Newark, NJ on Monday Oct. 21 at 10:55 PM and arriving in Tel Aviv on Oct. 22 at 4:20 PM. That's 17 1/2 hours, but they are 7 hours ahead of us so it would only be 10 1/2 hours in flight. We will be returning from Tel Aviv at 10:20 AM November 1 and arriving in Newark at 4:40 PM Nov. 1. That's 6 1/2 hours approx. plus the 7 hour time difference = 13 1/2 hours in the air. I'm getting excited for all that we will see in between those times!!
